Making Debate Available to Everyone
Is our mission, as we reject the notion that this invaluable activity should be exclusive to those who can afford its high costs.
In pursuing this goal, over half the students who attend TDC each year do so on full scholarship. Our summer instructors are dedicated volunteers who receive a modest food stipend in exchange for hundreds of hours of work. TDC has no full-time employees, and we work diligently to ensure that our tuition remains significantly below market rates. This tremendous effort is only possible because of the support of our incredible community. As we seek to not only maintain this standard of service but also expand our impact through partnerships with school districts and the growth of new institutes that serve a broader community.
At times, community members are able and willing to make transformational gifts to our organization. A transformational gift is not merely a donation, but a powerful investment in a brighter TDC. These major contributions profoundly affect our organization and have the potential to significantly magnify our work. This can mean covering core administrative costs, investing in new programs, or making marked increases in the quality of camp.
Recognition Opportunities:
Organizations and individuals who make donations at the above levels will be recognized at the appropriate levels on TDC's website, in annual report sent out to donors and community members, and on all event materials produced throughout the year.
Semi-Finalists and above will have the opportunity to sponsor and name one of the multiple events held during camp. These include group meals, focus groups for students of various backgrounds, ping-pong/basketball tournaments, and the Climacticum, a celebratory event held at the end of camp.
Champions will have the opportunity to sponsor and name one of our student labs and will receive thank-you letters and a creative project from the lab they sponsor.
